Read more]]> We first met Bill after his dad (Bill senior) was recommended to us by our realtor to do some last minute fixes on a house we were selling in Los Olivos. His work was great and of course we started talking and he told us he also worked with his son, Bill, who did general contracting and remodels. Well, we kept this info in our heads and when we were ready for that major remodel to our house in Orcutt, Heichberger Construction was the one and only contractor we called. After we met and he brought us his plans and the bid for our remodel we knew the Heichbergers were it. I have nothing but rave reviews for Bill and his company! Professionalism and integrity were obvious from the start. Being that this was a major remodel and our first, (we gutted the kitchen and bathrooms, raised a ceiling or two, put up a few extra walls...) we were eager for and took all of the advice and guidance Bill had to offer. I was able to give him an idea of what I was looking for and he made it reality. He worked diligently to stay within our very tight budget, without compromising our wants and needs. Going above and beyond was natural for them. When we couldn't find a kitchen table that worked Bill built it, as well as the storage window seat that we wanted, thanks to his prior experience building furniture. The icing on the cake was when he and his dad stayed late ( I mean REALLY late) the night before Thanksgiving to put the finishing touches on my kitchen so that I could prepare Thanksgiving dinner for our family from LA the next day. We remain friends to this day, as you get to know someone rather well when they're in your house daily for months at a time! I now live back in Los Olivos in yet another fixer upper but have no worries as I will be calling the Heichbergers when we are ready to start again!

Read more]]> I Hired Heichberger Construction to build my custom dream home in Los Alamos and I have nothing but praise for the work he and his subs did on my home. The home was completed on schedule with my home loan and all work was absolutely top notch! I had some very crazy construction ideas that I asked him to see if he could build, and he never hesitated to get creative and figure out a way to build exactly what I was looking for no matter how over the top it might have been. He is a master cabinet builder and built some of the nicest custom cabinets I have ever seen. He built a slate water fall in my entry way that I get compliments on anytime someone comes into my home, he also made completely custom built in desks in my office with Travertine desktops that look amazing! Bills subs particularly the concrete, tile & stone guys are also top notch workers! I have had several tile guys come into my home that have said they could never have done as good a job as these guys did on my tile and stone. We had so much stone and tile work in our home that I decided to hire another tile company to help with the work. The other company charged twice as much as his guys did and weren’t even half as good. I sent them home after the first job they did because the work was completely inferior and took twice as long as his guys did. It was worth the wait!! 

 

All that aside though, the best part of all of this was the cost. I had bids from several other contractors that weren’t even in the ballpark (Or the state for that matter)  on the cost Bill was able to build my home for. Had I gone through anyone else, my dream home would not have ended up the way it did. The first thing people ask when they walk into my home is “Who built this for you?” I am forever grateful for what Bill has done for us. I even had some minor issues with one of my rain gutters 3 years after construction. I casually mentioned it to Bill (Not expecting him to do anything, but just for advice on how to fix it) and the next day I had the rain gutter guys at my house fixing the problem. How many contractors can you say that about? I can honestly say anyone would be a complete fool not to use him for ANY construction job  no matter how small.

Read more]]> Bill Heichberger has worked for us on multiple projects.  He is a tireless and creative contractor who completed a completed a major remodel on our 1960’s apartments including rewiring and replumbing and upgrades to the kitchens and bathrooms. He did much of the work while still maintaining a partially full building, saving us thousands of dollars in possible loss rental income.  In another instance he built a beautiful dining room hutch for our daughter that was not only furniture quality but was sturdy enough to include a hide-away computer workstation for our grandchildren. He built a beautiful gym into the third bay of our garage that allows us some garage use, didn’t change the exterior appearance of our home but provides us with a first-class work-out room in the convenience of our home. I would highly recommend Bill Heichberger construction for their quality skills, their creativity to save the dollars on project cost, their timeliness in getting the job done, their attitude in working with other vendors.  When our property was damaged by a freak windstorm in the middle of a torrential rain, they worked with the insurance company adjuster and tenants to put our rental property back together as quickly as possible to minimize relocation of the tenants and loss of rental income.

What started out as a modest remodel soon escalated to what I could see was going to be a major remodel (new everything except the basic walls). We were very fortunate to have been referred to Bill Heichberger. Bill is a hands on general contractor who can basically do it all and deals only with the best subcontractors. His attention to detail and sense of pride in his work enabled us to end up with one of the most beautiful homes in the valley. In addition to our home, we also contracted with Bill to build us a barn that was designed by Barn Pros. And what a beautiful barn we got. Bill also expedited the permitting process which is always a big hurdle, especially with the county of Santa Barbara. In other words, I highly recommend Bill Heichberger.

Read more]]> Bill has been renovating our Cambria house on/off for the last ~2 years. It was really a dirty "dog house" rental initially; cheap '80s builder's grade everything. But Bill jumped in and gutted & upgraded 2 full baths & laundry, installed white oak flooring throughout, door
upgrades, trim & lighting, new wood/stone on fireplace/TV unit. Although Bill does everything well, his
